CHARACTERISTICS
The action of Sinorhizobium meliloti is to colonize the roots of alfalfa and initiate a close symbiosis that leads Sinorhizobium to produce nitrogen that is easily assimilated by the plant. The symbiosis lasts for the entire life of the plant and allows to avoid expensive nitrogen fertilizations.
